2017.09.05 Trumping Thought : Climate Change

As I sit in Portland Oregon and suffer through record heat moderated only by the thick clouds of ash sprinkling across the state from the giant spreading forest fires, I feel the irony of the locals wishing for rain more typical of September. It almost sounds perverse, considering the horrific flooding Houston is still suffering from. And the whole world watches as a new storm, potentially the most powerful ever recorded, bears down on the Caribbean and the southern states.

Doesn't it make you wonder: just how much information does it take to start believing scientific consensus?

 

 

To every climate change skeptic out there:

It makes sense to not be sure - I'm skeptical about most things myself. But the whole point of being skeptical is to be careful. If you are skeptical about there being burglars in your neighborhood, does that mean you leave you're house or car unlocked? No - you still lock them, just in case.

To every climate change doubter out there:

Grow a fucking brain and grow the fuck up. You not wanting to have something be true has absolutely no meaning. The universe doesn't give a flying fuck about your hopes or dreams, much less your vaguely-political preferences. It is people like you who hold back our whole fucking species due to your gullibility and narcissism.

To every climate change denier out there:

Fuck you guys, you intentionally obtuse fucking assholes. Your loyalty to whatever oil leaching company / political retard party / idiotic religious cult will be remembered in the same light as all the worst horrors humanity has ever conceived.
