Turns out that Dave is scary-accurate with a handgun.

Unfortunately, it didn't save him from having his brain eaten by my evil spawn. Surpriiiise!

Which serves him right, really, for failing to succumb to exploding due to overeating, neglecting to die from the systemic chocolate overdose, rudely refusing to have a heart attack while I drove like an asshole, and not collapsing even once during any of the death marches. I don't think he even had the decency to suffer some minor head trauma while going through the submarine tour.

Haven't heard how his return trip to the Great White North went though. Maybe a Sasquatch got him.
