2012.02.12 A Few Notes

1. Accepted a promotion: hello Senior Engineer II (Alpha Geek)
2. Mount Rainier is, in fact, pretty cool.¹
3. Simon is still a little young for optimal sledding adventure action.
4. A cabin with four toddlers (and full sets of attending parents) is too many people for me to be really at ease.
5. When not at ease in a crowded remote cabin, I tend to hide in corners with formidable tomes like "The Complete Collected Tales of Conan" by Robert E. Howard.
6. Man, I really love driving on little twisty mountain roads.
7. My son is so much like me, it makes my heart ache with both affection and pity.

¹ Aside: no pictures of this for corroboration. And I'll admit that this was not accidental. Because I know, deep in my bones, that I simply do not have photographic equipment capable of capturing what a mountain feels like while you're on it. Also: playing hard in alpine snow + regular camera = bad. Besides, it was hard enough jogging straight uphill over and over carrying my surprisingly-heavy son.
