2009.02.22 Stupid House

This past week we found a great house. In the neighbourhood we want to be in, with a layout we like, with Porsche-friendly parking, with tons of well-crafted and well-maintained charm, and not only within our price range but also massively undervalued due to being a short sell.

Simply fantastic. Really.

It has a couple down sides, though.

ONE - kind of close to a busy street. Just a couple houses from busy 39th, but the windows are sufficient to block out the noise. It does make it a hazard for wandering pets and tykes, though.

TWO - no yard. Not really. There's a patch of grass out front, enough to bury a tall human, but that's about it. However, I have thoughts about making major alterations to the garage, so perhaps it could be moved closer to the street to create a small garden in the back.

THREE - the garage is a bit sub-par. The doors are hinged, sagging, and pathetic, and the overall structure is not secure. As per number TWO, though, this is really as much an opportunity as a problem, though.

FOUR - it's a bit far from Mt. Tabor. About 2 kilometers, which is not quite ideal for the Wife's running needs. It is, however, a lovely straight shot to the park.

FIVE - it's already sold. A bit of an annoying problem, this one. We've submitted a back-up offer, just in case the other buyer gets strangled by a pair of mysterious strangers one night.

Stupid house.
