2010.10.17 Dirty
OK, this is officially a week late, seeing as how it happened last Sunday. Which, frankly is just an example of what it's like around here lately: spending time goofing off on blog rates a bit too low.
Basically, what happened is that a comrade from work (Colin "Martha" Marthaller) invited me to ride along in his tweaked WRX at a rally-cross event.
Duuuude. (There really isn't a better interjection to describe how much fun it was.)
It had rained for a few day straight beforehand, so the track was basically a mud pit.
Translation: PERFECT
And the first suckers out were, paradoxically, the 2WD class. Poor bastards.

I'd just like to point out that in the background, behind the dirty orange Volvo sedan, is a dirty yellow Volvo sedan going backwards shooting out a fishtail of pure muck.
Then it was time for the "prepared" and "modified" classes - just as the sun peeked out. Some of those cars really could hurl the mud off of the track, quickly making it faster-going along the racing line.

Finally, here are the people who tried to kill me:
The guy in the red Subaru 2.5 RS that hated cones and accidentally swerved straight at me,
and Martha (bearded fellow) with is buddy Ryan who both drove me around in the mud at breakneck speeds while the barely-muffled and boosted WRX howled.

Thanks guys. And, no, I still won't be bringing the Porsche out next season.
