Got a Mac.<br />

Posting this, and I haven't been smited or anything yet. Though my stomach turns when I think about just how smug Erin is going to be when he finds out.<br />

Really, I've only just gotten started so far, and I still have a lot to figure out. Mostly related to accessing the terabyte network drive full of media goodies that I mean to stream to the Mac that's running the TV in the living room. And I accidentally got a regular keyboard instead of the cordless keyboard, so I'm perched on the coffee table with the keyboard on my lap instead of lounging on the couch as god intended. And I'm still not convinced that I'll ever be totally able to get over the sense of how much less facile I am with Mac-OS than I am with Window$.<br />
<br />
But I have to admit, the setup was as simple as pushing the "ON" button. Plus the video and sound are great (at least, they fully-rendered all the visual and audio nuances of the Robot Chicken: STAR WARS DVD I watched). And there's no denying that the sleek little unit sure suits the simple aesthetic of our living room better than any other electronic equivalents I could attempt.<br />
<br />
If only there were some way to enjoy all the simple-to-use and well-designed attributes of the Mac without having to deal with the stigma of being an elitist privileged snot who doesn't have to do real work. Sure, I already was an elitist privileged snot who doesn't have to do real work, but I ducked much of the stigma by not flaunting it, which is what owning a Mac now does. Maybe I should just come out of the elitist privileged snot who doesn't have to do real work closet, and be proud of being an elitist privileged snot who doesn't have to do real work.<br />

I bet Apple would do a kick-ass job at figuring out what colours our elitist privileged snot who doesn't have to work ribbons should be.</div>RooK
