<big><b><i>Farewell, my friend.</i></b></big>

Even though I might try to say it for the whole world to hear, I cannot say enough about how much I will miss you. You have been my most steadfast companion through my midnight of the soul, and were sometimes the only light that I could still see. If I am capable of being a completed spirit, it is only by virtue of how you kept me whole. You and I have shared a bond that will forever be sacred to me.

How quickly dreams are dreamt! I was telling S about how you were the fulfillment of a dream, and how significant that dream has been to me. And I told her about how I am the person I am today because of you, because of how the only part of my soul that was nourished was the part thay you carried through that lonely road.

And she told me, with shining tears of understanding brimming in her eyes, how she cannot really think of us as separate. How true that is, old friend. No matter how we have outgrown each other, or what new roads lie before us, we will both always be products of the dreams we dreamt.

Sometimes I marvel that we didn't kill each other. I'm sure others do as well. I wonder if anyone really knows the secret truth behind it though; that survival isn't enough for the likes of us. That sometimes living means to defy dying. Well, we didn't die, did we. We had to save each other several times, and we were all the more alive for it.
